CT Invitational Success!

Hello Folks

Well what seemed to be a never ending weekend has come to an end and
I am back to my day job relaxing. While tiring at times the friends
made and great times had by many are always worth it.

Saturday we hosted the 4th annual Smitty from the City Tower shoot.
This event has been a great success over the years and we are always
happy to see our friends from North Carolina and New Jersey make the
trip. A big thanks to all the local guys as well for participating
and all the folks volunteering to work their dogs and retrieve the
birds. For all tower shoots there are a couple ribbon birds for a
prize. This was no different although owner Ron Acee and his station
partner Steve Reeves were at the lucky station for the first one. On
the second rotation I myself was lucky enough to sneak out of the
tower to join my father and Steve for a little shooting. Yup you
guessed it, I assisted in shooting the next one (I trained my tower
helpers well). Well instead of taken the money and running Ron made
a great gesture by donating half the winnings to the workers and the
other half to Advanced Strategies Adventures, Inc. an organization
that assists handicapped people and troubled teens enjoy the great
outdoors. Thanks to all for the help and great time and hope to see
everyone next year!!!

Then on October 19th, we hosted the CT Invitational in honor of our good
friend Charlie Todd. The big guy was very helpful when we were setting up the new clays course and then moved across the country to Arizona.
Well while visiting for a week or so we thought it would be nice to
thank him with a clays shoot in his name. Thanks to the 39 shooters
and all my helpers in making this our largest shoot to date and a
great time as always. I have attached a list of the results for your
viewing. Followed by the Clays shoot we had a casual flyer shoot to
finish this great weekend. Although I do not have many details for
this as I snuck away to my tree stand. I heard everyone had a great
time whether they were shooting or just watching.

I can't say it enough but I want to thank every one from the
shooters, to the volunteers, the young workers and all the family
that made this happen. I have been working for a while now to get
our web site redesigned and we are close to releasing the basic
setup. So far it looks great and I will let you know when it is
done. We are trying to keep the events page updated on the old
active site for now. As always i will send out emails for upcoming
events and Please do not hesitate to contact us for any information.
